Maggie Darett-Quiroz — Citizen E is looking for local green heroes making their corner of the world a better place. The winning Citizen E will get $10,000 grant.

Maggie was born and raised in Los Angeles, and has lived nearly her entire life in Glassell Park. Having seen her neighborhood suffer from drive and other challenges, Maggie has been determined to help the children in her neighborhood by teaching kids to grow food in the Glassell Park Community Garden (located at a former drug den, closed and torn down with the help of then Councilman Eric Garcetti). Maggie and her husband also provide hundreds of back packs and school supplies every year to neighborhood kids, and are working to get year round athletic fields put in at Rios de Los Angeles Park.
