Sean Mickey

As a well-known hair stylist Sean gets to know some of the Westside right and famous but it's the volunteer project he created at his daughter's school that makes him a Citizen E. Together with his wife and two other dads, Sean created a gardening class that teaches students how to grow nutritious foods and turn them into delicious meals. The important thing to know is that when the kids graduate his course, they've expanded their palates and have enriched their overall knowledge of food, culture and the benefits of healthy eating. Meanwhile, the kids are having fun! Remarkably the GROW program (Growing Roots of Wisdom) is now part of the curriculum at his daughter's public school, all made possible by parent volunteers. Sean's goal is to continue to oversee the success of the program even after his daughter graduates from this school and even expand the program to more schools.
